Deb is a Registered Nurse with extensive experience in hospital settings, home care, hospice, case management and pediatrics, and an Internationally Certified Birth Doula. As a devoted wife and proud mother of three adult children, she brings a powerful blend of medical expertise and compassionate doula care to every family she serves.

A Personal Journey to Birth Work

Growing up in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, Deb witnessed the emotional toll of pregnancy loss when her mother experienced multiple miscarriages with limited support. Years later, as a new mother herself, she deeply felt the absence of her own mom, who had passed away just two years before her first child, Elijah, was born. These experiences shaped her understanding of how profoundly mothers need guidance, support, and compassionate care during their childbearing journey.

What began as supporting friends and family during their births evolved into Deb's calling. She recognized that the feelings she experienced as a new mother—the questions, the uncertainties, the need for reassurance—were universal. This realization inspired her to become a doula, dedicated to ensuring no mother feels alone.

Deb's diverse nursing background uniquely positions her to support families through one of life's most transformative experiences. Her years in hospital settings provided invaluable insight into medical systems, effective communication with healthcare teams, and helping families navigate clinical environments with confidence. Her home care and hospice experience deepened her understanding of the profound importance of in-home support during vulnerable life transitions—a conviction that drives her doula work today.

This shapes her approach as a doula: meeting families where they are, both literally and emotionally, and providing continuous, personalized care.
